Just like people it is possible for your pet to get diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that happens when your pets’ body can’t control its sugar levels in the blood. It can affect cats and dogs and is not always obvious. Diabetes tends to affect dogs and cats that are overweight, so maintaining a healthy diet plan and regular exercise for your pet is recommended. Diabetes can be hard to spot in pets, however some of the symptoms to look out for include drinking more than normal, weeing more than normal, increased appetite, weight loss and vomiting to name a few.

If your vet diagnoses your pet with diabetes, they will give them a treatment and management plan this can include insulin injections a strict diet or an exercise routine.
