Why your pet needs Drontal
It’s not always obvious that your dog has worms. Intestinal worms are a problem that shouldn’t be ignored. They can affect dogs and cats, and the most common intestinal worms include roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms and whipworms. Worms can cause health issues and diseases, so it is very important to make sure your dog is treated routinely for worms. However, with the right pet medicine you can protect you four-legged friend the right way.
Why choose Drontal?
Drontal is the only wormer that kills every type of intestinal worm found in the UK in dogs and cats. The Drontal range has a wormer for every cat or dog from 6-week-old kitten to an 11 stone dog. It is known to be easy to administer and is effective after a single treatment. To find out how to use Drontal you can refer to the Drontal plus dosage chart.
How does Drontal work?
Dogs can pick up intestinal worms by ingesting worm eggs from their environment, from hunting or even swallowing fleas. They can also spread from the mother to the puppies. Worms breed and thrive inside your dog, sometimes causing lethargy, diarrhoea, vomiting and weight loss, however, sometimes there can be no symptoms. So, worming at least every 3 months will help keep your furry friend healthy and reduce the number of worm eggs shed into the environment.
How is Drontal given?
It is recommended that an adult dog is treated for intestinal worms at least every 3 months. However, there may be situations where more frequent treatment will be necessary. For example, a repeat does after 14 days may be necessary in a situation where your dog has a flea problem as fleas can pass new tapeworm infestations onto your pet.
